FIS Team Updates:
Exciting News: Development FIS Team:
Moving into the 25-26 season we will have a “new” team under the FIS umbrella! The purpose of this team is to offer U18 athletes a valuable opportunity to progress towards a more competitive FIS track, should they choose, while prioritizing their development. This pathway provides athletes with additional time to assess which direction will best support their skiing goals, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future. By offering the chance to compete at a higher level until high school completion, student-athletes can balance academics with athletics, minimizing travel time and allowing for greater focus on their studies. Additionally, this pathway offers guidance to different options for skiing in college.
Summer Ski Camps:
JHSC is hosting 1 week at Mt. Hood for the U10/U12 aged athletes, June 20-27 with coaches Turner Brett and Zoe Simpson! Later in July we have a U14/U16 specific camp July 13-23 with coaches Ned Lazarevic, Morgan Ellis & Emma Austin! The FIS & Devo FIS Team will be heading to Chile in August.
There are many options for summer ski camps for athletes to go to, but we are excited to continue to offer an options our JHSC athletes!
US Ski & Snowboard License:
In order to compete in Intermountain Division races all athletes are required to have a USSS license. The 25-26 ski season technically starts July 1st, I would recommend purchasing your license over the summer to check one thing off the list! ALL coaches and board members need a USSS license as well which require more time commitment to complete the process.
